We provide before and after school programs for children in all age groups, except for Toddler. Primary and Elementary care is available before and after school from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Middle School students do not have a before school program, but do have an after school Study Hall option.
Both Primary (ages 3 - 6) and Elementary (grades 1st – 6th) students are offered Before School Care between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.
For Primary students ages 3 and 4 (who dismiss at 11:45 a.m.), we offer two late day options. These students can stay until 3:00 p.m. (Late Day I) or until 5:45 p.m. (Late Day II) depending on which option best suits their family’s needs. Primary Elders (Kindergarten age) students normally dismiss at 3:00 p.m. Families may choose to enroll these students in Late Day II so they may join the other Primary late day students with a 5:45 p.m. pick-up time.
All Primary Late Day programs are staffed by Montessori-trained teachers and assistants. Students enjoy a variety of activities in a Montessori classroom and also spend time outside on the playground.
At this age, we believe that communication between the regular classroom teachers and the Late Day staff is particularly important. Teachers will communicate directly to the Late Day staff any specific information to assist each child’s transition.
Elementary Late Day Care is provided from 3:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. It is broken up into two groups – Lower Elementary Late Day and Upper Elementary Late Day. At the end of the regular school day, Late Day students are escorted from their classrooms to Late Day classes where they enjoy time outside or in the gym as well as in class with a choice of games and indoor activities. Many of these students choose to enroll in additional after-school activities including jazz, art, or chess club.
There is no before-school care for Middle School students, however we do offer an after school Study Hall for students who need a quiet place to study after school or who are in need of extra academic help from a teacher.
All extended hours care programs (except the Middle School) accept enrollment by semester. Semester 1 begins each school year and runs through Winter Break. Semester 2 runs from Winter Break until the end of the school year. If you know you need care for both semesters, you may enroll for the entire year by paying the non-refundable deposit up front.
Additionally, students enrolled in Late Day Care II for Elementary receive discounts for after school activities such as chess, jazz, and art. If enrolled in after school activities, students attend the activities directly after school and are then escorted to Late Day Care.
For a listing of Extended Care fees, see Tuition and Fees.
