MCS offers a variety of after school activities for students in the Primary and Elementary programs. Primary students can join art classes offered once a week by Abrakadoodle.
At the Lower Elementary level (ages 6 - 9), students are invited to participate in additional after school activities including: jazz, chess club, art class, and private music lessons. Our chess club regularly attends tournaments and competes with other local, independent, and public school teams and has traditionally placed well. Jazz club gives evening performances at the school twice a year.
Upper Elementary students (ages 9 - 12) may participate in all of the after school activities offered to Lower Elementary. They are also invited to join the school soccer team – the Mustangs. The team, under the direction of P.E. teacher Sabine Howe, practices twice a week (in season) and competes in the winter and spring against local elementary schools. Many Elementary students also choose to take private and semi-private music lessons in our Fine Arts building with music teacher, Karen-Anne Richardson.
For Middle School students, we offer a Study Hall from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday to facilitate homework discipline. The emphasis is on being an aid to effective study.
